Mazda, as an American auto maker not so good compared to Japanese cars. If you wanna resell in future, dont buy mazda. However, late models seem to be ok. Older models mostly have transmission problems so I dont recommend.

How much is he askng? Automatic or standard?
Did the timing belt done after 100K? If you go after looks , than the engine smoothness then you will be paying more for keep up cost.
It matters who has dirven and how it was driven for the longivity.
I thought Mazda is a Japanese car?

यो फुर्के कुन दुनियाँमा छ। mazda is not a American car, its Japanese car, assembled in USA. However it is not as good as Honda and Toyota.
