नेपाली डाक्टर मलखलाल श्रेष्ठले जर्मनीको एक विश्वविद्यालयबाट सबैभन्दा ठूलो उपाधि पाएका छन्। पिएचडीभन्दा ठूलो उपाधि डा. मेड पाइसकेका श्रेष्ठले 'पि्रभाट डोजन्ट' उपाधि पाएका हुन्। यो जर्मनी विश्वविद्यालयको सबैभन्दा ठूलो डिग्री गरेबापत पाउने उपाधि हो। श्रेष्ठ मुटुको शल्यचिकित्सामा जर्मनी विश्वविद्यालयबाट यति ठूलो उपाधि पाउने विदेशी हुन्।
मेडको उपाधि पाइसकेपछि उच्चस्तरको अनुसन्धान गरेपछि मात्र जर्मनीमा 'पि्रभाट डोजन्ट' उपाधि पाइन्छ। मुटु शल्यचिकित्सामा यस्तो उपाधि पाउने श्रेष्ठ पहिलो नेपाली मात्र होइनन्, जर्मनीका लागि पहिलो विदेशी पनि हुन्। मलखलालका बाबु प्रो. माणिकलाल श्रेष्ठका अनुसार उनले जर्मनीमा मुटुको भल्बका विषयमा अनुसन्धान गरेका थिए। मलखलालले अनुसन्धान गरेर मुटुको भल्ब सिउन नपर्ने पत्ता लगाएको प्रो. श्रेष्ठले बताए।
जर्मनीको ह्यानोभर मेडिकल युनिभर्सिटीका अध्यक्ष प्रा. डा. बिटर सरमानले गत १६ जनवरीमा दीक्षान्त समारोह कार्यक्रम गरी सो उपाधि दिएका थिए। जर्मनीका लागि नेपाली राजदूत सुरेश प्रधानलगायत सो कार्यक्रममा उपस्थित थिए। मलखलालले बूढानीलकण्ठ स्कुलबाट सन् १९८२ मा एसएलसी उत्तीर्ण गरेका थिए। त्यतिवेला उनी बोर्डको दसौँ स्थानमा परेका थिए।
सन् १९९२ मा उनले कोलकाता युनिभर्सिटीको आरजी कार मेडिकल कलेजबाट एमबिबिएस सकेका थिए। उनी १९९५ मा जर्मनी गएका थिए। २००२ मा ह्यानोभरबाट हार्ट सर्जरीमा पोस्टग्रेजुयट गरेका थिए। २००५ मा ह्यानोभर मेडिकल युनिभर्सिटीबाट मेडिसिनमा डक्टरेट डिग्री पाएका थिए। अहिले उनी सोही युनिभर्सिटीको कार्डियाक भल्ब एन्ड कोरोनरी सर्जरी चिफका रूपमा कार्यरत छन्

Congratulation! But it seemed to me, based on some googleing, it is similar to doing postdoc and working as assistant/associate professor before being professor. If I'm wrong correct me.

Nepalile gaff dina payo bhane kahi chhoddaina. If one gets job somewhere in foreign country, people start advertising by saying "the first ever". PD is certainly a respectful status in german universities but it's really a shame to advertise like saying he is the first foreigner to get this degree in cardiosurgery.People are even Prof. not only PD.In other subjects there are few other nepalese Prof. The one who writes this article is simply a journalist who has no idea from medical field.But still it's a matter of proud that nepalese are coming upwards slowly in respected fields in foreign countries.All the best to PD Dr. med.
